Thank you!

GMX Update

Dear GMX Member,

The year is drawing to a close and a lot has happened over the past few months. Looking back on all the highlights and developments with GMX, we would like to express our biggest and warmest THANK YOU for making it all happen!

Without your feedback and support, we wouldn't be where we are today.

We hope that the changes we've made with GMX have been positive ones for our users! It's our goal to implement the feature requests and suggestions that you have voiced to us in the Brainstorm tool and our forum.

Christmas is a peaceful time for all of us at GMX, as we enjoy the holidays and spend time with our families and loved ones. We hope that you will do the same and use GMX to send your good tidings, especially to those who are far away from home this holiday season.

E-mail is an easy and fun way to stay in touch. So we want to make sure that GMX Mail has the qualities that you are looking for. In fact, one of our users gave us insight into why he thinks GMX is a user friendly service...

All John B. wanted was a reliable e-mail service that had good SPAM monitoring and was accessible through various means. Having never heard of GMX prior to his search for a new ISP, John decided to give GMX a shot. After about a year, he shared some of his thoughts with us. Continue reading below to see what he had to say.

GMX: Why did you choose GMX for an e-mail service?

John: The reason I opened a GMX Mail account was that I moved from my old ISP. My previous ISP attracted a lot of spam mails and they were not prepared to do anything about it. And all I really wanted was a mail account that I could use over the Web or integrated into Outlook, and GMX looked good.

GMX: How does the customer feedback from GMX Moderators compare to other free mail services?

John: After my experience with Hotmail's tech support, I was skeptical to be honest. It was not a pleasant experience. GMX seems to do a decent job as far as customer service goes, so I can't necessarily say I expect anything different should I need help with my e-mail.

GMX: What is your least favorite aspect about GMX?

John: The Mail Collector will pick up duplicate copies of an e-mail (i.e. I will get it twice). While it was a bit of an annoyance, GMX Support was able to fix it for me..

GMX: Why do you use GMX Mail (i.e. business, personal, the useful features, etc.)?
What is the main attraction of the service for you?

John: I use GMX every day because it's reliable and easy to use, whether on the Web or from Outlook.

GMX: What advice would you give someone who just started a GMX account?

John: Setting up IMAP can be a bit hit and miss, so you are better off using POP 3. It seems more reliable.

GMX: In your opinion, how could GMX improve its service in the future?

John: Just keep it free, and listen to the user's requests for additional services. That's big. If GMX can do these two things, I think it will have a lot of satisfied users.

We've made a lot of progress this year, so be sure to keep your eye out for more new features in 2010!

We hope you enjoy the holidays!

Kind regards,

Your GMX Team

How You Can Help GMX to Support UNICEF’s Schools for Africa

GMX Update

Dear GMX Member,

From Rwanda to South Africa, Schools for Africa is UNICEF's program to help children in Sub-Saharan Africa to go to school. GMX supports Schools for Africa and you can help, too, even without spending money.

Recommend GMX Mail to your friends now – and for every new member, we will donate 1 US dollar to Schools for Africa.

Schools for Africa - What is it?

UNICEF is currently raising 50 million dollars to:
build and repair 1,000 schools in six African countries
provide 4,000,000 boys and girls with a safe place to learn and play regardless of their social, ethnic, or religious backgrounds
give them exercise books, pencils and other learning materials
provide access to clean water and sanitation facilities in these schools
train 80,000 teachers so that they can provide children with quality basic education and basic life skills
ensure that children are informed on day to day hygiene, health issues and HIV prevention.

How can you help?

It's simple! For every new GMX Mail user, we will donate 1 US dollar to Schools for Africa. So, if you would like to help Schools for Africa, too, all you have to do is this:

Recommend our free e-mail service to your friends.

When they sign-up for a new GMX Mail account and login at least once within four weeks following their registration, we will donate 1 US dollar to Schools for Africa.

Help us support Schools for Africa and recommend GMX Mail to your friends now.

Thank you for supporting this good cause.

Kind regards,

Your GMX Team
